Phil Cubeta, fellow philanthropy blogger (Gift Hub) and self-proclaimed morals tutor to America's wealthiest families, revived a 1989 essay entitled Small Can Be Effective by Paul Ylvisaker. Paul outlined the 20 functions of philanthropic foundations and funds. Almost 20 years later, many these functions still hold true - in the U.S. and possibly in Asia.
